I’m just a girl who has found through her Savior to be a creative being. Life has become an everchanging journey of inspiration as God opens my eyes wider each day; wider to the beauty of his creation and his created. On this journey he is teaching me the freedom of nonjudgment in how I view things, others, and even myself. This has even allowed me to be free from others’ judgment of myself as well. Yes, I’m a liberated woman.
I’m married to the hunkiest man ever and have two children. We are a homeschooling family, but I think that I am learning more from my kids than they are from me. The kids are very different in their learning styles and interests, so our home is always full of grand adventures. My teenage daughter is a wonderful baker, artist, poet and musician. My son is a book writer, game player, musician and comedian.
My husband is a freelance videographer with his specialty being the jib arm. “What’s a jib arm?” you ask. Check out his website at www.sjps.tv. He is extremely creative and has a great eye for the perfect video shot. My accounting degree does come in a little handy as I take care of his bookkeeping and administrative needs. His wild and crazy schedule also adds interest to our lives.
The things I love to do ebb and flow just like all of life. Right now I love:
- making fermented and whole foods just because they taste so good.
- being teacher and guide to my children as their natural talents and skills emerge.
- working in my Moleskine art journal and my altered hymnal.
- writing, so if I’m not journaling in my Moleskine, I am journaling on some paper somewhere. There’s something wonderful about the feel of ink on paper.
- soldering. This entered our lives this year after my daughter and I took a class. We’ve even opened up etsy shops last year to sell our soldered charms and rings.
- investing my life in people. Besides investing my time and self with my family, I also listen for God’s leading to determine what direction he wants me to go.
- blogging, twittering, facebooking.

VERONICA’s Voice is not nationwide, but there are like organizations in many major cities. I believe most of them have been started by women who have been victims of prostitution themselves. Their passion is to get others off the street.

I am a former member of KCBT, and it is only based on geography that I am still not involved in that fabulous work the Lord has planted in KC. Now that I live in Texas, (a hum….the “Bible belt”) I often find myself longing for true Christian women who have a heart for the Lord. You see, everyone here is a “Christian” because it is the social thing to do or generations (and I mean generations) have gone to the same church and place the first brick down of the Baptist on the square. Anyway…I ramble…but what I was going to say is that I found your blog after Jeff Adams’ blog this morning. KCBT website is our home page and we always scan it before checking email, etc. From his blog, I went to your blog, and your blessed my life today. Your profile is great. Your statement “saint of the 1 God”, reminded me of the movie “One Night with the King”, when Queen Esther reveals her real name to the king and that she is also a Jew. She says “Hadassah, Jew, daughter of the most High God”. It is awesome and reverent to put it in those terms that we don’t hear often!

Hey! Thanks for the compliment on my “believe” mixed media piece. Actually, the background was a piece of patterned scrapbook paper that had a watercolor cloud effect on it. And then I used colored pencil over it. Butterflies have special meaning for me… whenever I see one I believe it is God telling me he loves me. It stems from several years ago when I saw 2 GORGEOUS butterflies dancing all over the yard at my parents house when I used to live with them. I prayed and asked to PLEASE let the butterflies stay in the yard while I went and got my camera. Well, that’s exactly what happened, and I was able to photograph the butterflies drinking water, sitting on pine straw, on leaves, floating around the front yard and back yard… it was so amazing. It was one of those everyday miracles that God likes to give. The butterfly in the “believe” piece was photographed at a botanical garden.
By the way, I think my favorite piece I see on your blog is your “worry” piece. That is really creative!!

I actually have been non stop thinking and looking in my area for a group like you do in I believe Washington, I am living outside of Philadelphia and if there is not one, seriously thinking of starting in the future a little creative out of the box workshop for people that need to get out of the house, like me and hear maybe a few word of wisdom PLUS a fun little creative art thing that would inspire imagination which would lead to much more.. its so what I feel my area needs!
