Today I met with a local Artist’s Way Meetup group at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The facilitator actually pulled an exercise from the book How to Think LIke Leonardo da Vinci by Michael Gelb. This art journal page is the result. We started with a watercolor postcard and pastels and went from there. I’m so glad I brought my glue stick today. It was a challenge to work with limited supplies while sitting on a sidewalk, but I learned a great deal from the experience. The yarn in the nest says, “He just couldn’t resist a little splash of color.”

The book she used sounds quite interesting. I’ve ordered it from the library, but don’t mind waiting as I’m enjoying several others right now:

If you haven’t been, stop over at Sheri’s blog. She has the coolest demo!
