Joy!

The latest Salt challenge is Joy.

Since I have been praying so much lately, this verse seemed quite appropriate. The entire verse reads:

Psalms 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

I am already seeing some glorious answers to prayer. God is faithful.

My daughter participated in the challenge this time. Check out her work.

  1. Amanda,

You have blessed me tonight. I have learned that many, many people heard about progress with their adoption. Most of them have not been in process as long as I have. I have been pouting all day! I come to your blog and I learn…

God teaches me through repition. Uh… I think at least in my case I have to repeat tests because I failed to learn the lesson the first time. I appreciate learning that others struggle sometimes too. I would feel like a spiritual dunce if it wasn’t for people like you who were honest enough to share you struggles.

Joy is coming… I have to keep my eyes focused on eternity.

Children reveal [some major flaws in my character] That happens here too. I have even told Marissa that when I need her to be an external Holy Spirit I would let her know. Now, isn’t that a mature response!

Oh, and as usual ~ I love your altered page. I left a message on your daughter’s blog too. She must have inherited her mom’s talent!

  2. Love the contrast of being downtrodden and weighed down by the things of the world to next be free of it all and able to soar with the eagles. Checked out your daughter’s work as well, what a creative family.

  3. A great response to the Salt challenge – thanks for joining in.

  4. Again, a lot of hard work gone into your project, well done! great vivid colurs and techniques

  5. Hey mom.

  6. absolutley beautiful work!

  7. I love your and your daughters art! your hymnal art pages are awsome and what a great idea… I have an old one but i’ve just been using the pages for other art… this salt challenge piece is awsome

  8. Amanda,
Wonderful and encouraging message. I am always blessed by your artwork.

And obviously, you are such an inspiration to your daughter!

Actually, my daughter has always been an inspiration to me. Just as I was labeled uncreative, she was labeled creative. I encouraged her creativity without realizing this encouragement was also affecting me. Now, without labels, we are both having fun with creativity.
