Blogging verse to live by

Did you know that God addressed blogging etiquette in His Word?

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Just substitute mouth with keyboard, and hearers with readers. There you go.

God gave me this verse last night. I am occasionally tempted to leave a comment or remark that is a bit sarcastic when I read something that is totally missing the point, or is ludicrous in my mind. This verse is a wonderful reminder to me to not only allow only edifying things in, but to also allow only edifying things out.

Thank you again, God.

  1. I am sooo behind you on this one, Amanda!

That verse constantly resonates in my head, even as I blog. It’s a standard I put not only on mine, but the blogs I read. Not that I esteem myself better than others, but just that I don’t see any point in endulging in things that don’t edify or build others up.

Must be why I’m drawn to your blog… hmmm…

  2. oh your right! and I love when just the right verse is found in daily readings!

Me too! God makes it happen quite frequently, almost as if He is trying to tell me something. 🙂
