We Survived

The kids and I arrived home late last night after a wonderful time at camp. I slept very soundly on my comfy bed.

Thanks to those of you who prayed. Camp was beautiful. There were a total of 16 cabins with 10 campers in each. Our cabin of girls were the absolute sweetest. They stole my heart. It was so interesting to watch them and identify their strengths. It was a great blend of personalities, from gracious leaders to little tinkerbells. It was also wonderful to watch God mold them while we were at camp.

The weather was quite beautiful, not too hot, not too rainy. Saturday night produced a terrible storm. We were safe in our cabins, but safe is a relative term after seeing how close the lightning struck.

This is a photo of the lightning struck tree. The stripe down the tree was caused by the lightning.

This is a close-up of the stripe in the tree.

And this shows how close my son’s cabin was to the tree that was struck. His is the one on the corner nearest the tree.

God did show His awesome power that night, and He kept each camper safe. Our God is an awesome God.
